Abstract submission is now open and the deadline for submissions is Monday 4th November 2019

The 2020 conference is being hosted locally by Jenny Young, Richard Kyle and Debbie Cavers in Edinburgh. The theme for the conference is: ‘Personalisation, Policy and Practice”

Call for papers (research)

The Executive Committee invite submission of structured abstracts for oral and poster presentations of no more than 250 words comprising: Background, Aims, Methods, Results and Conclusions. Abstracts should be submitted by our online submission system. Presenters will know if they are successful by Monday 9th December 2019.

Service innovation papers

We would also like to showcase excellent clinical, educational, integrational and good practice initiatives at the conference in the form of oral or poster presentations. Delegates wishing to present their work this way should submit an abstract of no more than 250 words describing their work (this does not need to be structured). The scientific committee will assess the merit of these abstracts separately from the main call for papers (described above). Abstract submissions along with title, full name and affiliation of authors should be sent to Sarah Dickinson (BPOS secretary) [email protected] by the Monday 4th November 2019 and presenters will know if they are successful by Monday 9th December 2019.

We have one PhD student bursary (for students who wish to present at the conference) and two consumer bursaries available. These bursaries will cover the cost of full conference registration (both days including accommodation), conference dinner and second class travel to the conference (up to a maximum of £150).

The deadline to apply for both bursaries is Monday 4th November 2019 you will be notified if you have been successful by Monday 9th December 2019.

If you wish to apply for the student bursary please email Sarah Gelcich ([email protected]) with your name, place of study, year of study, title of presentation and a statement of why you wish to attend the conference. Please note – you must have submitted an abstract to be eligible for the student bursary. The bursary will be awarded to the student whose abstract achieves the highest rating from the scientific committee (this is done blind to authorship).  In the event of a tie the decision will be based on the submitted statement. If you wish to apply for the consumer bursary please email  Sarah Gelcich ([email protected]) with a brief paragraph outlining why you would like to attend.  The bursary winner will be drawn from a hat!
