This joint IPOS-BPOS webinar provides an introduction to co-design and its growing role in psycho-oncology research. Participants will explore the principles of co-design, review commonly used frameworks and approaches, and examine how partnerships between researchers, clinicians, consumers and carers can improve the relevance, acceptability and impact of research.

Real-world psycho-oncology examples will highlight practical applications, challenges and successes. The session will also feature a lived experience perspective, offering valuable insights into meaningful engagement and the importance of authentic partnership throughout the research process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the principles and purpose of co-design in health and psycho-oncology research.
  • Compare key co-design frameworks and approaches used across the research lifecycle.
  • Identify examples of co-design in psycho-oncology research and their impact on outcomes.
  • Appreciate the value of lived experience expertise in shaping research priorities, design and implementation.
