"IPOS helped me to connect with people in psycho-oncology across the globe and across different specialties."
I have been in research on psychosocial aspects of childhood cancer for more than 20 years, but it all started by a coincidence: I did not get the job I had applied for, but instead was offered a job in the field of pediatric oncology. Since then, I have focused on psychosocial aspects of survivorship and follow-up care of childhood cancer patients, and how their family is impacted by the diagnosis of cancer. I especially like the international collaboration which is needed for our research, and that we can actually help to make a change in the life of childhood cancer patients, survivors and their families.
