The International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) and the Turkish Psychosocial Oncology Association (PSOD), in collaboration with the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine Oncology Institute, were pleased to host the
13th World Congress of Psycho-Oncology and Psychosocial Academy in beautiful Antalya, Turkey, 16 - 20 October 2011.

The theme of the congress was Integrating the Psychosocial Domain into Routine Cancer Care: Bridging Continents and Cultures for Global Cancer Support
The objectives and goals of the Congress were:
- Emphasizing the multidimensional aspect of cancer care by uniting oncology and mental health professionals
- Providing the flow of information in the field of psycho-oncology by uniting professionals globally
- Leading the development of psycho-oncology in a region from Caucasus to the Balkans, from the Middle East to the Turkish Republics.
- Contributing to the training of psycho-oncologists and increasing medical professionals’ knowledge of psycho-oncology
