Workshop Objectives:

The objectives of the workshop are:

- Describe psychodrama as a therapy which explores, through action, the problems the patient and family may have during the process of illness.

- Show how the group is a valuable agent in promoting change in ways of coping with illness.

- Discover the different techniques we can use from psychodrama to explore and intervene in different situations.

Workshop Description:

Psycodrama is a very useful therapy in the work of health professionals that accompany oncological patients. It allows us to detect difficult situations and to help the patient and the medical team to deal with different emotions in the most suitable way. The body is where the sickness battle is being waged, and it is through the body that we intervene in psychodrama, through the use of active techniques. We include the body so as to understand what is happening therein.

Another important factor is the use of time. The possibility of situating the patient and the physician in the present moment helps them to face the future with more perspective, without anticipating it.

We will learn several techniques that can be used in everyday work situations, and consider situations that the participants bring to the workshop.
