About the Congress Logo
The logo for the 10th World Congress of Psycho-Oncology was designed by
renowned Spanish silk designer, Sara Die Trill. Following the logo
below is her explanation of its meaning.
“Each circle represents a different racial or ethnic group of the
world: Arabs are represented by the blue circles; Asians are represented
by yellow; Black people by brown; Europeans and Anglosaxons
by white;
Indians and Hindus by pink;
and every other ethnic or minority
group is represented by orange. Circles are concentric but not
symmetrical, illustrating
cultural diversity. Each group of circles contains a dot
of varying size and color, representing cancer. The
size, color and
position of each dot varies because cancer does not affect everyone
in the same way. Sometimes the tumor is larger and more aggressive;
other times it is smaller and more localized.
All circles are intertwined, representing the union of all cultures
in their fight against cancer. Unity of all cultures increases
their strength in fighting the battle against the disease. Common
efforts lead to a rising hope of finding a new solution. Such
hope is represented by the green background of the logo.”
